When exchanging pre-engagement promise rings What is the official title the couples use?

Boyfriend and I have exchanged promise rings with the commitment to marriage at a later time. No date has been set. I want to know what is the official title do we use? Boyfriend
/girlfriend or fiancee’?

you’re not fiancee’s until you’re engaged, so the only title you have is bf/gf. or you could call each other partners.

  2. Pre-engagement promise rings. I just don’t understand it. Any way, you are still boyfriend / girlfriend since you are not actually engaged. You are pre-engaged, what ever that means.

My fiance and I wore promise rings for 3 years…and you are still just boyfriend and girlfriend until he pops the question and gives you a real engagement ring. I’m happy for you!

  4. Your titles are ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’. This doesn’t change until you’re engaged.

  5. You are not engaged as of yet.

You are boyfriend and girlfriend who gave each other a piece of meaningful jewelry.

But, significantly speaking, you are showing the opposite sex that you are spoken for by wearing the ring(s).

  6. You’re still boyfriend and girlfriend.

A promise rings is nothing more than a “shut up about getting engaged” ring.

  7. The exact same title that you’ve been using until you exchanged promise rings. Your title will not change until he proposes to you and you’re an adult.

  8. You’re still just BF/GF.

  9. no fiancee! you are not engaged!!!!!

    boyfriend still!!!!!!

  10. Boyfriend and girlfriend is what you still use. The rings are simply a symbol of a deeper commitment than most dating couples.

  11. my boyfriend recently gave me a promise ring which he promised he will propose in the near future not the far future and so i have been pre-engaged! i never heard of it before but i looked it up and its pretty old school. but it just means your going steady and in a serious relationship and means he has intentions of proposing to you in the future. but until your actually engaged it just means your bf and gf but are going steady. i think its very sentimental and u get 3 rings out of the deal, promise, engagement, and wedding band :P not everyone can say that! we are lucky to have great guys to buy us meaningful jewelry :D
