What is the difference between molly rings and chrome molly rings in a car?



Now I remember watching an episode of ‘Trucks’ on TNN motor sports several years ago that said there was no such thing as chrome molly rings and they went into details about it but I can’t remember enough of it and I need to settle a debate with a friend at school.

  3. Back in the “olden days” you could actually buy chrome faced rings, but they SUCKED. They were very difficult to break-in right, and lots of blow-by if you didn’t do it right. Moly faced rings have a great surface to work with, but also break-in easily.
