  1. he’s just an apple fanboy. every electronic he buys is apple, apple, and more apple

    not me!!

  2. The iPad will not charge on some USB 2 ports due to whatever reason you want to blame it on. However there are programs out there that will allow it. I use one myself. Google it.

One thing not mentioned in most reviews is that the iBooks app will support PDF files. There are numerous books not in either store that are in PDF format and the iPad will read them. I do not know if this is true or not for the kindle as I have never used one.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this re

  3. @dinnerandashow “thinkfaster” is a very logical person and is relying his arguments on facts here whereas u r just opposing him without any proof. Actually u r da one whose children and employees I pity please try to change ur attitude its for own good…

  4. @thinkfaster

All I gotta say is that if you are a boss or a dad, the employees/children must live in a nightmarish existence.
You are simply a horrible person. I am sure you have heard it from others.

  5. @dinnerandashow Claiming I’m lying instead of simply claiming I’m wrong outs you as either insane or a fanboy.

I have a 2006 MacBook Pro, if I try to charge my awake iPad with it, the iPad says “Not Charging.” I have a 2009 MBP that can do it fine. You can go to Apple’s site and read support.apple.com/kb/HT4049 about how only their very recent Macs can charge high powered devices. Google has more proof. Try googling iPad Charging Issues.

You’re either trolling or just crazy in the head.

  6. @thinkfaster

    Wrong again!!!
I am no fanboy of the ipad, but you are NOT honest.
The iPad charges whether its awake or not.

As for some chargers not having enough power to charge a large battery… how the hell can you blame that on the device? Its a tablet, not a cell phone, it has a much larger battery. This is for the benefit of the user. You probably can not charge the ipad off a Netbook or iPhone charger. Would you rather the iPad had a tiny battery that lasts less then 1 hour?

  7. Why do you need an ipad if you have a laptop? its just a blown up ipod touch isn’t it?

  8. i haven`t gotten eather yet so i watched this to decide and i am definatly asking for the i pad for christmas!!!! :) i LOVE reading and the internet and games and all that cool stuff so i think the i pad is best for me!!!

  9. Thank God I don’t watch YouTube videos to help me decide what to buy. Some of these authors totally missed the important points. I have both Kindle and iPad, and use them for different things. However, I read on the Kindle exclusively for long books.

  10. go kindle

  11. @7o7munoz7o7 Not all USB 2.0 ports provide the same power. Apple has a chart at support.apple.com/kb/HT4049 that implies only iMacs mid 2007 and later will charge an iPad while it is in use and not asleep.

  12. @thinkfaster-what macs are underpowered…i have a 2006 iMac that has USB 2.0….maybe your reading for the USB ports on the keyboard, because yes those are 1.1 and not 2.0. USB 2.0 came out in i think 2001…2002…around there (may be wrong) so any device that has came out since then should be able to accommodate the iPad charging on 2.0. Im not sure where your argument is coming from or going to…

  13. @7o7munoz7o7 It’s about the power draw, most USB ports are not ‘high power USB 2.0,’ including those on a number of powered USB hubs. Since I wrote it I found that USB ports on older (pre-2009ish?) Macs are underpowered as well. I was not claiming that there is a platform specific kind of USB.

  14. Is there someone that wasnt dumb enough to use th same intro from VideoCopilot

  15. @thinkfaster- what is a non-mac USB port….USB is universal last time i checked….

  16. @berndikowski- if you own a device that whispers to you….get rid of it, that shit is possessed.

  17. Brilliant. A fan boy reviewing products. Fucking twat.

  18. @dinnerandashow First, go to hell for suggesting I was being deceptive. iPads can only charge *while awake* on a few devices and the AC charger. They charge on other ports when it asleep, but give no notice they are charging.

Apple says ‘Some USB 2.0 ports and accessories do not provide enough power to charge iPad. When this occurs the message “Not Charging” appears’ Engadget & MacWorld wrote about the issue.

My 2009 MBP can charge an awake iPad. My PC, PC hubs & 2006 MBP cannot. Honest.

  19. @thinkfaster

please be more honest. the ipad can be charged off any computer usb port as well as wall outlet usb ports and car adapter usb ports.

having said that i actually prefer the sony daily edition reader to either the kindle or ipad.

  20. So as usual another extremely biased iPad review. This wasn’t a comparison between the two, it was more a case of why the iPad is better. All the reasons why you stated that you’d choose the iPad are gimmicks. When I’m reading I’ll flip the pages quickly not mess around with the ‘cool’ feature to turn pages as if it’s a real book. Reduce the brightness on the iPad to reduce eye strain? You obviously don’t struggle to read without glasses, do you. There is just so much wrong with this review!

  21. iPad all the way!!!!

  22. The only thing I like about the kindle is that it has fourteen days of battery, but I like the ipad better because it has color! The kindel is just ink!
Im getting the ipad! P.S I dont just read the books I would like to have more!

  23. OMG —–> getafreeipad.weebly.com It worked for me… TWICE

  24. It’s really good review.

  25. Does iPad has feature which detect ur writing with stylus pen? (I mean if u start writing somenthing on google search rigth on blank text box it detects what u are writing and writes it on it) Im not just heard of it. Just though if there have it. (Doesnt need tab button letters when writing, just write like as usually normallly on letter etc on paper)
