How long can an ethernet cable be before a 5 volt output voltage drops below 1.8 volts?



I think the parallel port on a PC can detect a voltage above 1.8 volts. If you connect a 5v output pin through a length of ethernet cable, through a switch then back to an input pin, how long can the ethernet cable be before the computer fails to detect the pushed button?

    its 305 feet (aprox. 100m) before it won’t work.
