Ethernet Cable?
I want to get internet on my wii by getting a LAN adapter then getting a ethernet cable plugged into my computer.
The computer closest to my wii does not have a router it is the one receiving the signal from the router. Can i just plug my ethernet cable into that computer or do i have to plug it into the one with the router/modem?
It would have to be the one with the router.
The real question is how the connection between your computer and the WII is going to work.
Do you have 2 Ethernet ports on your computer? Have you set up ICS ( Internet Connection Sharing) or do you have a switch?
The best solution is to connect the WII directly to the router, or use a switch.
You can plug the cable into the computer without the router, so long that computer supports ICS (Internet Computer Sharing). That computer will have to be switched on every time you use the Internet on the Wii. To keep things simple, I will still recommend that you connect the cable to the router.
you can use a switch and plug into it. you should have a
internet sharing with gateway ip.
